IV. Measurement Principles & Usage

A. Ground Resistance Testing (3-Wire Method)

For the most accurate results, the device uses the fall-of-potential method.

Electrode Placement: Drive the auxiliary potential spike (P) and current spike (C) into the earth in a straight line, spaced 5 to 10 meters apart from the grounding electrode under test (E).
Connection: Connect the corresponding colored test leads from the instrument ports (E, P, C) to the respective spikes and the grounding point.
Principle: The instrument injects a current through the outer electrodes and measures the voltage drop across the inner electrodes to calculate resistance based on Ohm's Law ( $R = V / I$ ).

B. Earth Voltage Measurement
